QUM Connect services

We provide tailored services and solutions to meet the needs of the health sector and partners.

Our end-to-end approach to QUM covers program governance, stakeholder engagement, formative research, program and intervention design, solution development, marketing and promotion, and program evaluation.

By connecting consumers, clinicians, stakeholders and experts through a collaborative process underpinned by robust governance, we aim to:

  • Improve consumer health literacy

  • Optimise medicines benefits while minimising harm

  • Support health system sustainability

  • Build sustainable partnerships for collective impact.

Stakeholder engagement

Building relationships, networks and capacity to sustain QUM

Connecting health professionals and consumers is central to our approach. We collaborate with experts, partner organisations and implementation specialists to make this happen. A core goal of our work is to build capacity and expertise in our networks to sustain long-term QUM.

Research, implementation science and program design

Targeted research supporting effective program design

Translating evidence into clinical practice and health literacy is the foundation of our work. Using implementation frameworks and behaviour change theory, we collaborate with clinicians, consumers, and research partners to design targeted QUM programs.

At the core of our methodology is:

  • Evidence-based research: We conduct formative research to identify the key drivers and barriers affecting clinicians and consumers.

  • Targeted solutions: We co-design and bundle tailored education and resources to address specific QUM issues across diverse audiences.

  • Robust governance: Clinical and consumer oversight ensures all resources are high-quality, practical, and evidence-grounded.

The result is cohesive, effective programs that improve care, consumer literacy, and health outcomes.

Consumer health literacy

Consumer centred co-design

We collaborate with consumers and health literacy experts to co-create tailored solutions that empower people to make informed health decisions.

Our approach is shaped by:

  • Understanding consumer needs: We conduct formative research to uncover the unique drivers and real-world barriers consumers face when managing their health and medicines.

  • Co-designing practical resources: Bringing together consumer and clinical expertise, we develop accessible educational programs and clear, high-quality resources to improve health literacy across diverse communities.

  • Empowering informed choices: By translating complex evidence into clear, actionable guidance, we improve health literacy and support consumers to safely navigate medicine use, optimise health benefits, and minimise potential harm.

Health professional education

Evidence-based learning for everyday practice

We co-design and develop a broad range of high-quality health professional education solutions from educational outreach and online learning to clinical decision-support and shared decision-making resources.

Our process is guided by:

  • Implementation science: Applying established frameworks to translate evidence into real-world clinical practice.

  • Behaviour change theories: Assessing real-world drivers and barriers to design targeted, effective interventions to influence behaviour and improve knowledge, skills and confidence in practice.

  • Robust governance: Ensuring clinical oversight for high-quality, evidence-based solutions, user tested and reviewed.

  • Collaborative co-design: Bringing together clinicians, consumers, and experts to build tailored solutions.

Evaluation

Demonstrating benefits and value

Evaluation measures program success, drives continuous improvement, and delivers transparent feedback to partners and stakeholders.

We assess impact across three key levels:

  • Process: Tracking resource uptake, activity participation, and user satisfaction.

  • Impact: Measuring shifts in clinician and consumer knowledge, beliefs, confidence, and intended practices.

  • Outcomes: Evaluating real-world changes in prescribing, medicine adherence, and health outcomes (such as reduced adverse events and hospitalisations).

Program and clinical governance

Timely and good decision making
Efficient processes, sound risk management, and timely expert input underpin our governance framework – ensuring every solution is evidence-based and built for real-world impact.

  • Multidisciplinary oversight: We embed clinical, consumer, implementation expertise and stakeholder engagement at every stage of development to guide effective decision-making.

  • Risk management: Our processes balance efficiency with robust/sound risk management to maintain high scientific, clinical, and ethical standards.

  • Evidence-based solutions: We align program design with clinical priorities and health sector needs, ensuring interventions directly address identified QUM issues.

Marketing and social marketing

Creating value and influencing behaviour
Connecting a deep understanding of audiences with clear strategic choices and creative execution to influence behaviour change

  • Audience insights: Building a clear understanding of audience needs to guide strategy and campaigns

  • Marketing strategy: Turning audience and market understanding into clear strategic choices

  • Campaign development: Translating strategic priorities into compelling campaigns and communications
